As there are many issues with Trinity (https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=5536)
I'd love to see a Q4OS XFCE, it'd be almost as lightweight as Trinity and with much better integration with modern applications (especially gtk ones)
Right now, it is possible to install a XFCE Desktop but you'd need a Plasma/Trinity Desktop as well.. but a standalone XFCE Desktop would be pretty nice.

kde is not resource heavy as it used to be. between qt and gtk, gt has more potential, versatile, has better cross platform support.and between lxqt and xfce, lx is abit more fluid, abit more lighter but xf is only abit more eye candy than lx,but i see where you are coming from.
maintaining and improving trinity takes time and manpower, implementing (as in support per say) xfce is possible but that also means adding whole new toolkit (gtk) if you know what you are doing as an experienced user, you should be able to use it,shape it as you like it already. there shouldnt be a need for official support. ofcourse thats just my two cents.

KDE used to be pretty lightweight, i mean just look at TDE.. Qt has cross platform support, sure.. but we're talking about DEs, and I'd much rather prefer KDE over any other Qt based DE.
I believe there should be an option for users to have a GTK DE too, and XFCE is really stable, modern, and has much more softwares support (i.e, GTK based apps) as well as features. It is extremely customisable and beginner friendly too.. and doesn't need "hacks" every now and then. It's also great for users who exclusively use GTK apps most of the times
LXQt is great too, but it's not just about being the lightest, and XFCE just feels like a perfect balance of good UI/UX and resource efficiency

Ofcourse. They are all getting better and better though.the resource consumption difference between de’s getting blurry these days. Except gnome. I am with you there, if i would have chosen an gtk based, i would have gone with xfce too. Have you tried using lxqt with kwin? I think you might like it. Pretty close to xfce in term of customization and being eye candy and still 2nd place in terms of being lightweight.
