Thank you. Will be glad to try it out.

We have uploaded a new testing .iso "q4os-x64-experimental-rb002.iso" to https://sourceforge.net/projects/q4os/files/testing/ . Please try to boot it, use the first boot option "Q4OS Live system (amd64)" and post back.

With exp 002 when I start the live installer the 2 lines of text that appeared when I earlier tried the fail-safe mode:
EFI Stub: Loaded initrd from Linux_EFI_INITRD_MEDIA_GUID device path
EFI Stub: Measured initrd data into PCR 9
and then it continued with the long scrolling text for a few seconds and then the screen when blank with no further video output.
I then tried the install option, that displayed a short error message for 1~2 seconds before launching the standard Debian installer that allowed me to proceed all the way through the setup process steps up to writing to disk - where I stopped.
Would you like me to proceed with this attempted direct install option, or wait on an updated live installer?

No, please wait for the third testing iso. The only live option is important at the moment.

We have uploaded two more .isos "-rb003" and "-rb004" https://sourceforge.net/projects/q4os/files/testing/. Please try to boot them, use the first "live" option, and post back. Give the boot process some time for initialization.

003 & 004 boot results:
003 - Different short text displayed and then scrolling text - then just blank screen - waited 2+ minutes - no video displayed.
004 - Short text displayed but not in boxed format like earlier messages - no scrolling text - then blank screen - waited 2+ minutes - no video displayed.

How do you create the bootable USB ?

With KDE Image Writer on Tuxedo OS. Other ISO's created here have worked without issue.

Well, that should be fine.

That's really puzzling. The "q4os-x64-experimental-rb004.iso" is actually the same file as Debian 13.1 Plasma live "debian-live-13.1.0-amd64-kde.iso", only renamed. So the next step would be to try booting again with the original ""debian-live-13.1.0-amd64-kde.iso"" . Download from the official Debian source https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/cu … so-hybrid/
Would you try it please ?

Yes, I will.

Yes, I will.

Thanks again for the testing. Regardless of the possible outcome, it is definitely valuable because we have already found room for a few improvements during this process.

Downloaded:
debian-live-13.1.0-amd64-kde.iso
It also starts with scrolling text and then goes to black screen and no video output.
So I guess there is no simple solution.
Thank you for letting me try some options.
If you have anything in the future you would like me to try, just let me know.

Yes, it is definitely an upstream one. From previous posts, we understood that you managed to boot Debian live before. So the process could be a bit easier. Never mind, it was valuable anyway, all good. If you find anything worth mentioning about Q4OS, let us know ![]()
