During installation the Calamares partition tool allows you to define the file system for each partition. Your swap ptn could be sda2, 3, 4, 5 or whatever. If you told it to set that ptn as SWAP file system then that's all you need.
If the swap ptn is from a previous install it will not just be automatically picked up on a new install.
There's a world of difference between a swap file and swap partition.
Please run
inxi -SMCGxP
and copy/paste output here.

So there's no swap partition defined.
Are you expecting to share one with the other OS on your drive?
Do you feel you need swap - haven't bothered with it for years on anything with 4gb ram or more.

A swap partition isn't required anymore, it seems -- and for safety proofing, a swap file can be enough...
E.g., a set of instructions is at linuxize.com/post/how-to-add-swap-space-on-debian-10/, it should still work.

OK, thanks,
i have a swapfile of 4GiB,
the swapfile is used by Linux Mint 18.3 & Linux Mint 20.3 & Maegia 8 end before Q4OS 3.15 on the same HD without problems.
grts,
Kevin
