Wi-fi works on one network but not on another: SSID not found

Hello,

I installed 64-bit Q4OS (Trinity Desktop) on a Lenovo x230 laptop.

It works at home, I can connect to our house wireless network.

But when I take the laptop to school, I can't connect to their wireless network.  I get the message:

TDENetworkManager: Connection attempt failed! SSID not found.

I tried removing the network connection and re-adding it.  The network widget shows me that the system picks up the network. (The SSID is correct.)  But whenever I try to connect, I get the above error message.

/var/log/user.log shows:

Both networks show in the network manager of type "802.11 WiFi".

Any suggestions?  I'd like to be able to use the school network.

Thanks,

Re: Wi-fi works on one network but not on another: SSID not found

Well, the first suggestion would be to install the latest version of Q4OS. The one you have there is the old Debian Buster base. The newer versions are Bullseye. https://sourceforge.net/projects/q4os/f … o/download
If that produces the same result then it may be your school network uses a different key type so it would be worth checking the settings they provide.

Re: Wi-fi works on one network but not on another: SSID not found

Thanks, bin!

I was able to connect to the school's wi-fi by configuring the network connection security to "WPA Personal" and putting in the shared key.

Understood that I'm on an older version of Q4OS.

Thank you for your kind reply.
