Installing Q4OS on a Raspberry Pi

I have put together a guide on installing Q4OS to a Raspberry Pi, it is available from my tutorials site here https://dai-trying.com/tutorials/q4os-on-raspberry-pi/ I tried to include as much detail as I could and it ended up being a little longer than I though it would be so I have not added any images to it, I can insert some if users think it would benefit but thought it would be ok for now. I hope it will be useful to somebody.

Re: Installing Q4OS on a Raspberry Pi

Nice tutorial! My Pi 3 B+ is currently running Nextcloud on Raspbian, but I may have to check this out as well.

Re: Installing Q4OS on a Raspberry Pi

Thank you, it certainly can make things easier if you are already running Q4OS and want to keep your systems closely aligned although it is so much easier to do this with Raspbian, simply adding two files to the boot partition takes care of WiFi connection and allows ssh so you just need to log-in and allow VNC (which is already installed) and everything is good to go. Hopefully it is something the devs might look into as it is one of the benefits of these SBC'c to work head-less.

Yes, we will check a possibility to simplify the connection process in a Raspbian like way. Anyway, thanks for the helpful and detailed tutorial.

Re: Installing Q4OS on a Raspberry Pi

Ok Dia, I followed your tutorial and now have ssh and VNC working. But, I got a problem.
I originally set up my pi 3+ with a keyboard, mouse, and HDMI display. So I already had wireless set up when I started following your instructions. Everything worked fine, except for the display resolution! I only have one selection and cannot change it. I have tried changing the dpi, but can only go down to 60 which still does not help.
Maybe the snapshot I took can help you figure out what I need to do. I'm at a loss at this time.
The pi is working headless now, thanks for that!

Re: Installing Q4OS on a Raspberry Pi

Hi Jim, I am currently working on opencv for face recognition on my Pi3 but will have some time later to set-up a new Sd card and test this, I think that I had screen resolution fine but will test it and let you know, just to be sure can you tell me which image you are using? (3.10 or 2.7)

EDIT:
I just checked my tutorial and you should set your screen resolution in raspi-config, this should allow you better resolutions.

That fixed it!
I guess I wasn't very good at following directions. Since I already had wifi working I admit I skipped around a bit!

Thanks!
