Messed up resolution

Hi!
Linux noob here. I recently installed q4os using the win10 installer and it worked just fine until i decided to change my machine's name by rewriting the /etc/hostname and /etc/hosts files. Ever since then my screen resolution has been really bad [too low (the highest given is 1024*768)] and it doesn't even show the correct screen resolution (1680*1050 is my monitor's native) in the settings option. I've tried changing the name back to default, however I am not sure what it was. I've tried q4os-desktop and it didn't work. I've also tried running this script, which should supposedly reset all desktop options to default:

$ sh /usr/share/apps/q4os_system/bin/default_desktop_settings.sh

that apparently only works with Trinity desktop while I am using Plasma.

So, what do I do now? I've also tried clicking the "install drivers" option from my welcome screen since I figured the configuration might be happening whilst the drivers installation is being done - that didn't work either.

Thank You, appreciate your help.

Re: Messed up resolution

Please run commands in terminal:
$ hostname
$ hostnamectl
and post the output here.

In addition provide the "qreport.tgz" file as described here https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3502

(base) kejlaj@berlingo:~$ hostnamectl
   Static hostname: berlingo
         Icon name: computer-desktop
           Chassis: desktop
        Machine ID: 177656a08e564d6ebc8fd868c771a94f
           Boot ID: 6ef4122efee4477eaef04bcdc5e0911a
  Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)

Re: Messed up resolution

Just an update: the issue completely disappeared seemingly by itself.
I had not been on my computer for about a week and when I booted it today it was all good.

Anyway I am still going to reinstall the system since I am upgrading to an SSD.
