Sophos antivirus installation

Hi

I plan to install Sophos antivirus in Q4OS and I need to make two queries:

1- Is the same procedure detailed in this article (for linux ubuntu)? h-t-t-p-s://ubunlog.com/sophos-instala-antivirus-terminal/
2- In a PC with 1GB of RAM will affect its speed of work ?. (the pc is used for web browsing, email and some work with office suite, not at all demanding).

Hello!
Any anti-virus will affect overall performance, because it consumes resources for on access scanning module, web traffic scanning module, heuristics mogule...etc.
I would not suggest installing any anti-virus software on PC with less than 2GB RAM.
As for Sophos Antivirus, I tried to install it on Q4OS back in 2016 and I was not successful with it. So I tried several another antiviruses: ClamAv, eScan, Comodo, ESET, DrWeb. So far, I think that for Linux, the best anti-virus is DrWeb.
I am not speaking about it`s malware detection abilities, because Linux is not Windows, it is much much harder to write malware for Linux, I am speaking about performance, functionality, usage easiness, support, available documentation. So after several months of testing I suggest to use DrWeb. Currently I use Linux Mint 18, and DrWeb works very well on it, and back in 2016 it was working well on Q4OS too.

Sorry, I haven`t tested it on Q4OS 2.5.
