no more Desktop login possible

My Q4OS boot to KDM and i enter username and password, then i see the wait cursor and KDM pops up again. No login to Desktop possible.
But if i switch to text console with ctrl+al+f1, login with the same data is possible?

What can be the reason for this? What groups necessary for Desktop login?

Re: no more Desktop login possible

You probably mean TDM instead of KDM, as TDM, alternatively SDDM, is the default display manager. Which installation media did you download and install from ? Please post a brief hardware specification.

Re: no more Desktop login possible

Well, we would need to get a debug info from your system to be able to check it. Please switch to the text console with ctrl+al+f1, login and run following commands:
$ sudo rm /var/log/tdm.log
$ rm $HOME/.xsession-errors

Reboot, do TDM login first, switch into the terminal again and attach files:
- $HOME/.xsession-errors
- /var/log/tdm.log
- /var/log/Xorg.0.log

You can add multiple attachments by 'post reply -> choose file' repeatedly

Re: no more Desktop login possible

OK, deleted, rebooted and try to login

.xsession-errors is empty

Re: no more Desktop login possible

Unfortunately, there is no obvious reason visible in the logs attached, we guess, it's most likely a hardware related issue. Anyway, we will take a closer look on this in a few more days and post back as soon as possibe.

Re: no more Desktop login possible

We are not able to reproduce this issue at all. Please post the exact installation media filename you have downloaded and used to install Q4OS from. It would be also helpful to try to boot the Q4OS live media and report back the result. Please download it from here https://q4os.org/downloads1.html -> section 'Live CD' -> link 'Q4OS Scorpion, Trinity - 64bit / x64' -> filename 'q4os-2.5-x64.r1.iso'

Did anybody else notice similar issue ?
