Yes, I can totally do that This little one was just to show quickly the overall reactivity with q4os on the pi 400,(I'll try to do another one more complete with pi 5),  but I think I can do something a lot more polished about Q4os with my win10 theme, not especially with raspberry. I Will try do it in the coming days

Testing test release 3 on a Raspberry Pi 5 right now, first impressions: really impressive, this is a REAL desktop replacement solution. I'm testing with an sd card, and it is already very good, performance is good and reactivity is night and day with Pi 4. Will try with an usb enclosure with nvme disk as soon as possible. Some videos coming soon

New testing release "q4os-5.4-rpi.r2-testing4.img.xz" is out for download, see https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.ph … 261#p26261 . This is considered as first release candidate, so testing is appreciated

(quality not very good, but the camera doesn't like shooting lcd monitor But with raspberry version I have not the choice to run it in a virtual machine, which would be easier to make a movie capture).

I will do a more general Q4OS trinity video with win10 theme and with cleaner image soon

Nice video. Q4OS + Pi 5 team up very well. Pi 4 is just a bit too slow for me to work on it all day. Your tempting me to buy a Pi 5 which in all honesty, I don't need. (I revived too many old PC's already thank to Q4OS!)

Now I'm gonna try the next test version (4) for Pi.

For me there is no difference with (improvement over) test version 3.

- BT issues
- VLC hangup on maximized screen
- some warnings users should not get from software center
- ...

I already considered test version 3 a release candidate so version 4 is also a valid release candidate as far as I can see.

We would need to see if Q4OS receives these issues from PiOS, so a comparison would be helpful.

The final release of Q4OS for RPi is out https://sourceforge.net/projects/q4os/files/unofficial/ . This is an unofficial release with limited support. It may become official in the future, if some QA are met. Announcement: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4852

We would need to see if Q4OS receives these issues from PiOS, so a comparison would be helpful.

I tried Pi OS 32 bit and did not see the issues.

For Q4OS Pi there are workarounds:
- Reinstall BT
- Run VLC maximized instead of full screen.

Hi
I am having problems with a Raspberry Pi 5 installation.
I have successfully installed q4os-5.4-rpi.r3 to an SD card.

However, it only boots to a black text screen with terminal options.
I thought with a 1.2GB file, the desktop would have been there?

It won't connect to the internet when I try and install a desktop/lightdm as it refuses to notice the internet connection.
It just throws up errors.
I connect to the internet by tethering an Android phone as I don't have home internet.

Any help would be appreciated as I only use Q4OS now.

I used Raspberry Pi Imager to Flash to the SD card (and a USB thumb drive when that didn't work).
the hardware was a Raspberry Pi 5. What exact info do you need?

I used Raspberry Pi Imager to Flash to the SD card

Please use Q4OS imager, or a method recommended https://www.q4os.org/dqa010.html and post back. Q4OS should work on RPi-5 , does anyone else encounter described issue ?

Tried from the img file rather than image.xz and it still boots to the black screen with terminal options.

Use Q4OS live media.

Login with initial credentials and run:
$ sudo systemctl restart tdm
$ sudo systemctl status tdm
and post back

$ Run:
$ reportq4
and attach the debug file here, see https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3502
