New Email Alert

Can anyone tell me how to get Thunderbird email to chime when you get new email...? I have the box checked in my preferences using system sound alert. However, when I click the "play sound " button, nothing is heard. Do I have to turn something on in Q4OS...? Or do I have to download an app from Mozilla Thunderbird site...?

Re: New Email Alert

Run KMix and make sure all of your volume levels are up, not just the Master volume level.

KMix is under Programs -> TDE Menu -> System.

Current setup:  Acer Aspire One D257 / Q4OS Centaurus / TDE / SeaMonkey 2.53.8.1

Re: New Email Alert

Tried what you suggested; enabled all volumes. Tried to "play sound" but nothing. What next...?
