Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

OK, I know the DW Ranking is not an accurate scale, nor will it ever be, but seeing this today made me think about when I first started running Linux. Ubuntu was Top Dog, followed by Linux Mint.

After "The Death of CrunchBang" I did try a couple of Ubuntu and Ubuntu-based distros.  Not a good experience.

Debian is a "must-have".

I did try Manjaro once as well, but I can't get my brain to cooperate with Arch.

The link 'how_the_mighty_have_fallen.png' is broken, it's probably important for the topic understanding.

Re: Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

It's working for me at this time.

I've noticed lately that some image links are valid, but don't show for some reason. I found if I hit F5 to refresh the page, it works.

I've noticed this on some of my posts here. I use two different image hosts, and it happens from both sources. ALSO, this happens on other sites I post images on as well, from the same two sources, so it isn't just THIS site.

I don't know if it matters or is possible, but it might be a Chrome-browser issue.

EDIT: If the image still doesn't show, just go ahead and delete this post.

Re: Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Ubuntu has screwed up in 2016, after moving to v.4 Kernel. Such move and bad Quality testing had produced a HUGE number of Regressions. Just read some reviews especially Deidomedo`s reviews and you will see. Personally I have stopped using Ubuntu after it switched to shitty unity interface, but I have tried Mint 18.0 based on it. And I did not liked it... For the first time... Till the end of 2015 Linux Mint was my favorite distro. Seriously, Canonical had made a very good Linux distro, but some very stupid decisions forced a LOT of users to search for alternative and as result, Ubuntu fell from First place in 2010 to 4-th....

I don`t like Majaro because of it`s Rolling release model. For me it is like hobby project, not for production machines, where stability is very important.

I can`t upload pictures to forum anymore! Does this option been removed?

Before asking for help please read this topic: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3502   If you have problems with WiFi network, try to install the Network Manager using Q4OS Software Centre.

It is not available from the quick post area, if you click post reply or edit your post you should see the normal file upload area.

Re: Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Ubuntu moving away from Unity back to Gnome 3 is going to really cause some issues as many of the big names have dropped in the Distrowatch ratings.

Re: Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
