Debian 9 is coming - Now would be a good time to check your sources.

Just a thought.....

With Debian 9 looming on the horizon now would be a good time to double check your sources in /etc/apt

If you're using Q4OS 1.8 then it would be a good idea to make sure none of your sources point at Debian Current.

If they do then you'll get some interesting issues when Debian 9 becomes Current.

A quick and dirty method is sudo apt-cache policy and eyeball the results. You need to be pointing at jessie

Yes, however the default Q4OS repositories point to Debian Jessie, so regular users will not need to change anything. Anyway, it is a good idea to check all of your repositories.

I don't want to sound pedantic, but... debian sources would read "stable" not "current" which would lead to users being upgraded to stretch when it becomes stable, very good point though for users to check.

Re: Debian 9 is coming - Now would be a good time to check your sources.

The default set of Q4OS Orion stable repositories is as follows:

deb http://q4os.org/q4repo q4os-1-0-cn main
deb http://q4os.org/qtderepo jessie main
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-free
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ jessie-backports main contrib non-free

It points to 'jessie', so the system will not be anyhow influenced by transition of the Debian stable repositories from Jessie to Stretch.
