Backlight and brightness controls for machines where it doesn't work

Sorry about the long subject line.

I know a few users have had brightness and backlight issues.

I don't know if anyone can make use of it either in the form in which it is presented or as a springboard for a package or two for Q4OS??

At the very least it is a good pointer for getting brightness settings how you want them, and a few different methods means one of them should work for the majority of users that face an issue. Good find bin.
