Hplip too old?

A friend of mine uses q4os and has bought an Hp Envy 7640

He gave me his pc, but unfortunatly not yet the printer. On hplip page i notice the printer needs 3.14.10 but unfortunatly hplip installed is 3.14.6

Whilst i'm waiting for the printer, do i need to update hplip? If yes, how?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Hplip too old?

If you need it, HPLIP 3.16.11 is available in jessie backports

sudo apt-get -t jessie-backports install hplip
