Q4OS(armhf) on qemu

I am thinking of getting a Pi board sometime soon and would like to look into the Pi OS first. Has anyone managed to get the Pi version of Q4OS running in qemu? There are a few tutorials around for specific kernels (I think) but I cannot seem to find anything that works.
Any suggestions?

Re: Q4OS(armhf) on qemu

The key part is to get Raspbian working under QEMU. Once you are able to run Raspbian anyhow, you can easily run Q4OS for RPi as well, so we would recommend you to focus on getting Raspbian working under QEMU first. The Q4OS and Raspbian SD card setup is nearly the same, please see http://www.q4os.org/dqa010.html . The main problem is, that the QEMU cannot emulate RPi hardware exactly, as far as we know, so you cannot use the standard Raspbian kernel. On the opposite side, Raspbian/Q4OS ARM binaries should run under the QEMU machine without modification, so you should be able to use standard repositories directly.

Thanks guys, I started using this guide but I didn't get it working at the first attempt, I should have some time a bit later to get something working (hopefully) and will post back with details (or more questions).

Re: Q4OS(armhf) on qemu

Apart from Q4OS for RPi, you could also use Debian Q4OS ARM port, which is something different and is based on Debian. It will work on RPi as well and it's easier to get it work under QEMU.

Q4OS Debian ARM port, please see http://www.q4os.org/dqa012.html

Q4OS for Raspberry Pi, please see http://www.q4os.org/dqa010.html
