Show us your desktop

Now that there is a new forum, lets see what your Q4OS looks like.

I'm running Q4OS with the Xfce wm, tint2 (3 desktops), and a couple of conkys.
(Xfce panel hidden on left side.)

Impressive & Unique. big_smile
I haven't able to customize like this before on Xfce.

Naturally, Xfce would conflict with KDE definitely.
But Q4OS doesn't, because the TDE folder location exist in /opt/trinity
Which become independent away from /usr/share/
I've guarantee that since I've already installed test it.

I'll post mine later soon.

Hi Seeker. Thanks! I use GIMP to customize the wallpaper and "fit" the conkys.
Here's another one for these conkys:

A few weeks from now I'll probably have something completely different. lol

Thanks I think it was one from when I had KDE installed, but cannot remember exactly. A search on google images for "cool metal debian" will bring up quite a few similar ones. smile

Re: Show us your desktop

Nothing fancy, just a straight forward TDE desktop.  But, it's plenty functional for my needs.  I put my most frequently used apps on my bottom panel: Konsole, SeaMonkey web browser, and the Kingsoft office suite.

Re: Show us your desktop

Dear Family & Friends, As we travel in to a new year it was time for me to finally improve my life by flushing Microshaft.

This is the new Q4OS Operating System and it has the following benefits:

- VERY SECURE | - No Viruses "Ever" | - No Malware "Ever" | - No Yearly Payments to McAfee, Norton, AVG, etc.

- Can use on facebook, google, Yahoo, Pentrest, RT, | - Can use with Photos, Vidoes, Youtube !

- The whole system & data can be burned to a DVD and then booted and reinstalled from a DVD player by an 8 year old.

- Won't Run Internet Explorer or login to MSN Live (its better than that, its Linux)

Its the only type of Operating System that I now use. Happy New Year 2016

PRICE for better than Windows ? =================================================> FREE smile - Always !

Re: Show us your desktop

I AGREE !  When you are trying to suck windows users (that kind of fits don't it) over to your side, you got to ease them over and then flush the toilet for them smile

Happy New Year and lets move as many people possible away from Microshaft systems.

Re: Show us your desktop

Yep, Linux is my daily driver now. I've still got an off-line XP and a Windows H8. I rarely ever fire up the H8, and the XP has some old software that I still use that won't run on newer versions of Windows.

Re: Show us your desktop

I'm sooooo done with Micro flop...I'd had enough when my stop machine running XP,locked up,and when I tried using the recovery console with CD, it lost a lot of my info, although,  I was lucky to have backed it up on a external HD. And, I was sick of all the flawed updates telling me to buy a new machine...Ugh..! I spent a month or so looking for a solution, and found Q4OS. I installed it,and never looked back.Q4OS does everything I need it to do.It doesn't beat up my hardware,by maxing it out,and looks/works Great..!
Thanks Q4OS Team....much appreciated. Have a Great New Year...!

Re: Show us your desktop

Captnoize, a lot of people are being abused by Microshaft.  With me, as soon as that F'ing Windows 10 icon appeared on my Win7 system that has worked mostly great for a wincrap machine; all the trouble stated.

Updates Quit Working
Notice of Non-Genuine WinCrap OS - DAILY !! / Won't validate legal / Please get WinCrap 10 for FREE !  They don't tell you its just for 1 year

Wait until people find out that WinCrap 10 will require a yearly subscription or you can't access your computer - ITS COMING !

SO we have 1 year to get 10 Million people switched over to Q4OS !  I working day & night to be a helper in all of this smile

Bobby

Re: Show us your desktop

Bobby,
I ended up reinstalling (completely) in my old Dell dimension L1000 .I had bought a Windblows CD many yrs ago, just to have in case something happened to my computer. I had a friend of mine come over, who is a computer programmer, and run the install, since I'm a novice with installs, and run it for me. All went fine Until,it started to retrieve it's updates.(122 total) That's when the problems started. It seems that Microshaft had left their "bad" updates,in with their good ones. My friend theorized that this was intentional,to force the majority of us end users into buying new machines.I love good Conspiracy Theories, as well as the next guy,but not at my expense. I tend to agree with him. How do you think some people get to be "billionaires"...??? Believe me,...the "Rats" will get theirs,..in the end. I tell Everyone about Q4OS...!

Re: Show us your desktop

CaptNoise & cc, thank you both for the feedback as it just made it easier to plan out 2016 and how I and (hopefully) others will step up and use exclusively Q4OS;  do local installs and support; and provide cusom remastered LiveCDs for people.

Curious about the gauges in the top right? It's so I can still see the cpu and net up/down activity when running a browser.

Re: Show us your desktop

I like this one. I noticed your conky (assumption) in the bottom corner, can I ask if you have any problem keeping it transparent? I always have to select a background image before it goes transparent.

Hi Dai_trying. It sounds like you need to activate "compositing". Yes, it is a conky and it does have transparency, however I'm running Xfce on my Q4OS. I'm not sure how to activate compositing on TDE. Q4OS Team should know how.
