Sinaptics repository error

Hello, in other distros happens often this is,  Synaptics gives me an error because one of the links of repository does not connect. But then if I close the warning -  closes the full box of  sinaptic and repeating the circle again. (imposible resolve the problem from synaptic itself)  If i repeat the procedure  again this close again and again. Is there a remedy? because if it is impossible to do the updates and less to upgrade system. i know that not is a failure of Q4os is a problem of the form that synaptic works.  Thanks..

here the error messages synaptic send:

E: Malformed line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/tox.list (dist parse)
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Re: Sinaptics repository error

OK, so you've added the Tox Client repository. The problem is that the line that has been added is not being read by Synaptic because it contains an error - as far as synaptic is concerned anyway.

I take it you followed these instructions on the Tox web site?

echo "deb https://pkg.tox.chat/debian stable $(lsb_release -cs)" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/tox.list
wget -qO - https://pkg.tox.chat/debian/pkg.gpg.key | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get install apt-transport-https
sudo apt-get update

Open Synaptic and go to Settings>Repositories and find the entry for tox.
Edit the entry and change 'stable' to 'jessie'
Save and then click on Reload.

If you still get an error change the Jessie value you just entered to 'all'

If that doesn't work then for the time being uncheck the box for that repository in synaptic, save and reload so that updates can work.

The instructions for the client show the distribution source as 'stable' and that is what the error refers to.

If you're still having problems please use kwrite to open /etc/apt/sources.list.d/tox.list  then copy and paste the contents to reply.
