If not, how to disable swap and grow out main partition?

Personally I would keep some swap space, just to be on the safe side, But if you want to remove it just open gparted, right click the swap partition and select swapoff, then delete the partition. From there you can resize you main partition although if it is the system you are currently using you will need to boot from a live-cd to resize it.
And don't forget to remove the line in your fstab (/etc/fstab) that references the swap, otherwise the system will still look for it and give you a 90 second delay when you boot.

I heard that swap partition was bad for SSD and should be avoid:

I personally have only 2GB on my samsung q1 ultra umpc's ssd drive with q4os/kde desktop installed on it and have no swap on it. It runs perfectly as q4os does not requires a lot of ram even with the kde desktop loaded (I have 240/250 MB at boot). I sometimes run 5 or 6 applications alongside with no issue at all.
