It looks like Snap packages are now coming to other distros as well, not just Ubuntu.
Should Q4OS users be happy too? Maybe the apps from the Software Center could be packaged as Snaps? Or is the native Q4OS app format better?

Yes, they should.

No, snaps will be complementary to the .deb packages
.. is the native Q4OS app format better?
Yes, the most preferred is native Q4OS format, as that software is adopted to the native Q4OS environment. Nonetheless .deb and snaps are supported too. We suppose, there could be a gui 'Snap' package manager similar to Synaptic in the future.

This Snap packaging technology is relatively new, and I am sure, it contains unresolved bugs, so I would prefer to wait 1,5-2 years, before implementing it into Q4OS. Not all new is the best. Buy the way, why we need it now, if 98% of software packages are installed through repositories? And we have native Q4OS app format. Q4OS is made as stable and reliable OS not as OS for testing new features. If you want to try new features first, you can use Linux distros with Rolling release model, for example Manjaro Linux.
Before asking for help please read this topic: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3502 If you have problems with WiFi network, try to install the Network Manager using Q4OS Software Centre.

@Rademes
We agree with your comment. Q4OS wants to be as stable as possible, we don't want break or cancel functioning APT packaging model. We will simply receive the expected upstream Debian support for snaps, as it comes in a future.

We have prepared an Experimental support for snaps in Q4OS, if anybody wants to play around, download setup file 'setup_snapd-q4os_1.1-a1_all.esh' here https://sourceforge.net/projects/q4os/files/apps/
If you would want to get rid of all snap packages and remnants, just run in terminal:
$ sudo apt-get purge snapd ubuntu-core-launcher
$ sudo rm /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/snap-* /etc/systemd/system/snap-*
$ sudo reboot
$ sudo rm -rf /var/lib/snapd /var/snap /snap
You are welcome to let any findings here.

I'm glad you still planned with deb.
Also it's obvious that Q4OS package manager pulled stuff from various linux repositories which is kind of unique.
