Hi,
I love Q4OS. What is the purpose of QuarkOS? Debian uses less memory. I use Ubuntu based distros including Ubuntu as well. I'm just curious. I couldn't find anything in regards to this.
Thanks

Thanks for the response. I just wondered since this version isn't listed along with the Debian version. I know why Mint offers LMDE so this made me curious since it is the opposite.

I actually wish Mint would just go Debian. The way it is discussed what they don't like about Ubuntu seems to have some disdain in it. I think it is hypocritical that Mint benefits from Ubuntu with their attitude. Just go full Debian already.

Exactly ! it's a bit absurd to dislike ubuntu (like I do too by the way I must admit) and build a complete distro based on ..ubuntu. I always thought it was perfect non sense. (no disrespect to the mint team, but very true.) Like you said, just go full debian or build your distro on it, not on something you don't like in the first place..given the fact it's based on debian !
From this perspective, I find the Q4OS team's approach much more logical and consistent. I don’t use Quark OS myself, but it’s an interesting initiative that might offer advantages over Debian for certain users—though I couldn’t say for sure. That said, the main project, so to speak, is Debian-based. Since ubuntu itself is also derived from Debian, Quark OS makes sense in that context for specific use cases probably.
