This is a complicated problem for me, because I am not familiar with german keyboards, never used one in my life before, and the laptop was refurbished and I was told clearly that this was a german keyboard layout, so during install I selected "German (Switzerland)" because I thought it would be right as the key order is "QWERTZ" (I think the keyboard layout from germany is QWERTY?), but it doesn't match exactly, for example the exclamation point is right above the letter "1" on the keyboard, but whenever I try to type it, it comes out as "+". There are several more german keyboard layouts including one just labeled "German" (Which again I'm not sure is the right one) and another labeled "German (Austria)". Further adding to the problem, there are several modes for each layout, so it's far from just 3 keyboard layouts, more like a dozen.
Is there a way to preview keyboard layouts from the keyboard settings app itself? I want to make sure it's completely correct before choosing this time.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Trinity, is there something about the DE I choose that affects whether there's a preview?
