Hello everyone,

I am, as the Italians say, “a 79-year-old giovannoto un po staggionato.”

I am using q4os-6.4-x64.r1.iso and I am having trouble with LibreOffice,
which does not recognize the HP Envy 6200 series scanner.
I uninstalled LibreOffice and installed OnlyOffice, but the problem remains the same.
The printer is recognized by the system, and I can print,
but I cannot use the scanner.
Configuration:
Could you tell me what I am missing or what I have forgotten?

J'utilise q4os-6.4-x64.r1.iso et j'ai un soucis avec libreoffice qui ne reconnait
pas le scanner de hP Envy serie 6200.
J'ai supprime libreoffice et installé onlyoffice le soucis est identique.
Au niveau système l'imprimante est bien reconnue, je peux imprimer
mais je ne peux pas me servir du scanner.

Pourriez-vous me dire ce que je n'ai pas ou que j'ai oublé?

Run:
$ scanimage -d "hpaio:/usb/ENVY_Photo_6200_series?serial=TH11NDX04G" --format tiff > /tmp/test1.tiff
The command above should scan a document into "/tmp/test1.tiff" file. Does it work ?

This looks to be a communication problem with the scanner, most likely hardware dependent. A possible workaround may be to run commands with no locale, for example:
$ LANG=C sane-find-scanner
$ LANG=C scanimage -L
$ LANG=C scanimage -d "hpaio:/usb/ENVY_Photo_6200_series?serial=TH11NDX04G" --format tiff > /tmp/test1.tiff

We would also recommend you to try replace USB cable.

This issue doesn't seem to be a native Q4OS one, it may be caused by an incorrect Debian scanner driver (SANE backend).We also recommend you to search for Debian solutions, it will work for Q4OS as well.

Another way to solve this issue may be using proprietary HP driver. Follow steps:
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install hplip hplip-gui sane libsane-hpaio
$ hp-setup

Hello everyone,

I've partially solved the scanner problem.

It seems that Q4OS doesn't have all the necessary components
to run the HP Envy 6200 series scanner
or other scanners.

I tested the scanner with skanlite KDE from the Debian
or Flathub repository, and it works perfectly.

Et il semble bien que Q4os n'a pas tous les éléments
pour faire fonctionner le scanner HP Envy 6200 series
ou d'autres scanner.

J'ai tester le scanner avec skanlite KDE dans le dépot
Debian ou Flathub et cela fonctionne parfaitement.

Si cela peut aider à d'autres ?

We are trying to figure out what went wrong.

- Did you install plain Debian or just skanlite application on Q4OS ? Do skanlite work on Q4OS ?
- How did you proceed with scanning on Q4OS when it didn't work ?

I couldn't scan from LibreOffice, which theoretically
recognizes the printer.

Printing works fine. So I searched the Debian, Ubuntu, and Linux forums for a solution,
but without success. I posted the question here.

After our discussions, there were no solutions, so I searched
using Discover for a scanning program: Scan Simple and SkanLite. Kde
SkanLite Kde immediately found the HP Envy 6200 series scanner.

And I was able to scan my documents.

I'm using q4os-6.4-x64.r1

Debian Ubuntu Linux une solution sans résultats l'ao posté ici.

Skanlite a tout de suite trouvé le scanner de HP Envy 6200 series.
Et j'ai pu scanner mes documents

Based on the tests performed, it seems to me
that the Debian or 4QOS libraries have
shortcomings in the repositories or firmware.

I'm not an expert, but that's my impression.

LibreOffice can't find the source for scanning, but editing works fine.

Would you please run the following commands in terminal:
$ sudo apt install sane-utils hplip
$ sudo adduser <your_username> saned
- Reboot
- Check Libreoffice if it detects the scanner now.
