The live .iso file has the needed software included. If you want to create custom .iso with more applications we recommend you to use S4-snapshot https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4510

I've used S4-snapshot and it works great.  I use it to make full backups with personal info.  About every 3-4 weeks I make a new one.

Calm down, it's only ones and zeroes

Yay...that installed ok.  Have yet to try it.

..noticed an extra addition: 'Install Debian' in the 'System' list ..guess that was due to that install..??

Yes, it's only needed once you create a live iso.

Re: Creating a usb Q4os stick thats upto date with all installed apps

This worked rather well...took the usb stick from my netbook .. made my iMac 12,1 the same as my netbook !!

How kool tis tat !!!

not only that but tried it on my other iMac (10,1)  Theres an issue with Linux on that iMac and also the 5,1:
On boot up the display goes into a four screen 2x2 layout too small to do anything

MXlinux has a fix for this in their  menu
..and found Q4OS has too ie

boot - advance options
failsafe options
xorg=safe

..back to main menu - boot.

Think I need a faster usb stick ..as theres a delay in mouse n keyboard..but ther good.
