uninstall-wubi.exe doesn`t work
What are the messages ?
Did you ship the wubi logfile via e-mail ? If so, your installation has failed due to corrupted download. So we recommend you to install Q4OS once again. As soon as you install it properly, the uninstaller starts to work as well

Well, remove the directory "C:\Linux64" first.
Now run the installer again. Provide the following info:
- All the error messages you see on the screen throughout the install process.
- The logfile wubi-5.x-rev346.log, attach it to your post.

Thank you for your efforts and suggestions!
In the meantime, I have found a solution that works for me.
Of course, I can't judge whether it's technically correct, but the system has been running stably so far.
After downloading Q4OS win.zip.exe again, as you suggested, the setup led to the same result.
No installation or uninstallation possible.
I can't explain why the download files are corrupted.
Therefore, I decided to remove the Q4OS files manually.
In the Control Panel, I disabled the Windows Feature
VM Platform and the Windows Subsystem.
I deleted the Linux/Debian file from the C drive.
In the Registry Editor, I removed the Linux key entries.
I kept the 5 keys I found, as they are probably needed by Windows.
-> Windows Subsystem!?
Before I reinstall Linux, I will add a second SSD to my PC.

Thanks for the report. We suggest you an optional way to install Q4OS with installer for Windows:
1. Download manually Q4OS filesystem loop file https://github.com/q4osteam/q4os-instal … oop.img.xz Note, the downloaded file must have 1092473824 bytes exactly, so please check it.
2. Download q4os-winsetup-....zip from our downloads page https://www.q4os.org/downloads1.html
3. Run local installation in Windows Powershell:
> <full_path_to_the_installer>\q4os-winsetup.exe --dimagepath=c:\<full_path_to_the_image>\q4os5c-x64-loop.img.xz

Did you try this procedure ? https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.ph … 103#p32103

Unfortunately, I couldn't try it because:
The first four attempts to download the loop file failed or were interrupted due to server overload.
I just tried downloading it again from the Github website today, but the file size is incorrect.
Second attempt:
Using the direct link from the forum also worked, but the file size is (1,066,869 KB) and not as
described: 1,092,473,824 bytes.

What way do you attempt to download the file ? Is your network behind some kind of firewall or proxy ?
We are not able to reproduce the issue, download is fast and works fine here. So we would guess some issue on your local network.

Thank you for your efforts.
I will install Q40S shortly in the usual manner.
In addition, I am sharing the information for your comments:
I am using the default settings for Windows Defender and the Wi-Fi router.
Due to a lack of technical knowledge, I am unable to assess whether there are problems with the local network.
Other downloads are working, or rather, I am able to execute them.
The failed downloads occurred in the last 14 days.
I tried to download them again a few days later.
I was only able to download the file on October 4, 2025, but the file size was incorrect.
I have attached a screenshot of how my Brave browser displays GitHub.
The loop file is available for download there with a size of 1.02 GB.

Thanks for the info, we have no idea what goes wrong with your the download. The filesize is really "1092473824" bytes and it perfectly fits with the "1.02" gigabytes figure from your screenshot due to bytes to gigabytes conversion. We can also recommend you to try download the file from another computer on another network and post back the result.
What is your country you are downloading from ?

Hi Claude,
For future reference, the easiest way to remove the Q4OS set up in W10 is to use Revo Uninstaller.
Just download the free version,
Start up Revo & it will list the Q4OS system along with other programs.
Highlight it - or Right click it & then click uninstall.
It shouldn't be more than a minute to do the job.
Once done --- simply close Revo uninstaller and your done.
For good measure (just to be sure) boot out of your system.
When Windows starts up again - the blue selection screen won't appear.
If you are still concerned - start Revo again and check.
But Q4OS will be gone.
