I share my media collection with others. Collecting for 35 years, I now host 2 million files spanning 35 hard drives. In the past, I have used many programs. Recently, I have used WeTransfer, SwissTransfer, Gigatribe, torrents, and Nicotine+. Last year, when I tried Q4OS, I found Nicotine+ was only partially supported and considered experimental by many. I was never able to get it to run well so I put that project aside.
Since I installed Q4OS Andromeda, and since finding it included FlatPak support, I decided to give it another try. Nicotine+ is a graphical fork from Soulseek. It can be compared to public torrents and in some ways it is better. I share music (1,000,000+), books (60,000+), audio, TV (300,000+), and videos (10,000+). I use a private (paid) torrent tracker and I use a private IPTV hosting site.
Does anyone use SAMBA shares on their home network? Between Windows and Linux?
These work well under Windows and now I am happy to report they also work well under Q4OS. Constructive comments are welcome.
