Installed Vidcutter because I just wanted a simple to use video editor. It shows the icon on my desktop but when it launches it disappears. I guess I'm missing something. I installed it through flatpak.

I've seen this issue reported in some other forums and it appears to be an issue with the Flatpak. You could try to uninstall it, and reinstall followed by a restart and see if it will work.

I tried uninstalling it but haven't had any luck. Anyone know of a way to do this?

In my case I install most of my Flatpaks either with the Q4OS Software center or with Discover and both can be used to uninstall a Flatpak as well very easily. I run Q4OS KDE.

Seemed to have removed it with the help of Gemini. I also found an appimage for it.Would I encounter a similar problem with that?

The issue is with Vidcutter so if the appimage is done just as poorly, who knows if it will work. Have you had issues with other Flatpaks or just Vidcutter? I've used Flatpaks a lot and never had an issue.
My issue with appimage is,it can access the system just as you can but Flatpaks are more secure and sandboxed.
