File Creation & Modification Times

using Dolphin file manager with both Created and Modified columns enabled / displayed, noticed that the date and times are "wonky".

When creating a new file, the Created column is empty, but the Modified column will show the date and time of the newly created file. Why does this not show up in the Cretaed column where it belongs?

When the file is edited later, the new time will show in both columns ... and the original creation time  (displayed in the Modified column) will be lost and it will match the modified time (showing in the Created column), eg. - both will now show the same date and time. Hunh? Well that ain't right.

What's going on here? Is this a bug? Or can a config setting be changed somwhere to easily fix this?
