With all the oddball changes that have been suggested to me for my various TDE windowing issues, SOMEHOW now I have a persistent "window" that appears to be an Evolution online/offline toggle. It is about 1/20th of my screen from the top and about 2/3 of the width of the screen (bottom monitor in my multi-monitor setup). Its only windows decoration is a diagonal link (?) icon, with which you can toggle Evolution online/offline. The #$%^ thing cannot be moved, minimized, or closed. It also stays on TOP of any other window, which is really annoying.
Any ideas how to get rid of this thing?
EDIT: Sheesh, seems to have solved itself simply by closing Evolution and re-starting it. Back to your regularly scheduled programs and problem, all!

Did you define some windowing rules for evolution ?

Not to my knowledge! The strange window just showed up today. I cannot find anything in Evolution menus and preferences that comes close to addressing this. I admit I haven't yet done a web search, so I guess I need to try that. This chasing weird quirks is exhausting.

If you are not already doing so I would recommend you use the Flatpak version of Evolution. I ma no fan of Flatpak but this is one of those cases where needs must.
My guess is that you're seeing the icon fragment of the button shown in the attached pic.
I think this may be another of those little Gnome/TDE/GTK theme glitches.
If you go to Evolution>Preferences>Appearance and set the title bar to Standard then, at the bottom of the list set the Status bar to 'off' it my help.

Thanks, @bin -- I might have to try the flapak version of Evolution. It's not in thDE in flatpak form. Also, right now I can't seem to install the Flatpak app itself! Aaarrrggghhh!
