SB webcam that just works on Q4OS – tired of OBS workarounds

Hi everyone,

Can anyone recommend a USB webcam with a built-in microphone that works reliably on Q4OS without needing extra drivers, tweaks, or OBS Studio workarounds?

I'm honestly getting tired of:

the camera working one day and not the next,

having to launch OBS just to make it appear in Teams or Zoom as a virtual camera,

devices randomly disappearing or the microphone refusing to activate.

I'm looking for something USB, that:

works plug & play on Linux,

has a decent built-in mic (so I don’t need external audio gear),

    is UVC-compatible,

and works well with Teams, Zoom, Google Meet (via browser).

Would really appreciate any proven models – ideally ones you're using yourselves on Linux and that just work.

You can expand your search to the Debian operating system. What works on Debian will work on Q4OS too.

Thanks crosscourt I've just bought the Angel Tube 1080p - we'll see how it works!

Wow, it simply works out of the box without any drivers or setup—this is fantastic! I'm just curious if there's an option to access a settings panel for the webcam to adjust things like resolution, autofocus on/off, auto exposure on/off, etc. The camera actually delivers quite decent video quality, but the auto exposure is a bit too sensitive and sometimes dims the video unnecessarily. It's a minor issue, though, and probably something that could be addressed on the software or driver side.

probably I would have to play around with this settings:

v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video0 --list-ctrls
