Is it worth installing zswap?

Hello, I would like to know if you have experience using it and if there is a difference in performance compared to other competitors such as ZRAM.
Would zswap be for low-resource computers?

Re: Is it worth installing zswap?

The idea behind these tools is that stuff that is needed but not being used is compressed in memory and then decompressed when needed.
Great in theory, but if you have a low powered machine to start with you can wind up losing processor power because it is spending all its time compressing and decompressing stuff in RAM.

Re: Is it worth installing zswap?

Here is some ideas that you may take from my old thread to assist with low memory and low cpu computers. I am running Q4os on a Samsung CB4. I origially was installing and running it on a dell lattitude d430.
