Is there a step by step installation tutorial? I searched everywhere but I can't fin one, and ones i find i dont understand them. I use the tutorial on xpq4.sourceforge.io but I dont understand how to install it and I just use it from the USB. I got to this [image at the bottom] part and then i dont know how to continue. Sorry if there is something I'm missing, but I never used Linux before and I'm trying to install it on a pc I have so it can be faster.

Look here, https://xpq4.sourceforge.net
All you do is download FreeXP/Free10 which I believe is live media and install it, directions are on the site. FreeXP/10 is not a part of Q4OS and is supported by the devs of XPQ4 directly. Ive never used it so I cant directly advise you but it should be pretty straightforward.
Choose either the Free10 or FreeXP live image and download, burn it onto a USB stick and boot it to the live session that will not install anything to your system but give you a chance to see it and try it. If its to your liking you can install it and off you go. If you prefer to run it off the USB stick thats also possible.

I dont have enough info to help. Typically the live session boots and you end up on the desktop screen with OS ready to use. Live media shouldnt be an issue and it doesnt install, it will run from the USB stick independent of your system for you to try.
Typically live media has an option on the desktop to install the OS directly onto your system if you prefer, but it should run off the USB stick with no issues. Most live media have an icon on the desktop you can click to install onto the system, occasionally the install feature is in the menu of the OS. Live media also many times as it loads gives you the option to either install it or just continue with the live session without installing. I have to say sometimes the install to the system at this point doesnt work and you need to let the system boot into the live session, then click the install icon.
Im taking a wild guess but did you accidentally try to install FreeXP over the live image on the USB stick, which cannot be done. You can install it to your systems hard drive, or continue to run the live session on USB stick.

If you already have Q4OS installed on your machine and you want to add the xpq4 experience then you need the installer for your version of Q4OS.
If you have Q4OS Trinity then you need https://xpq4.sourceforge.io/setup_xpq4_5.3-a1.esh
If you have Q4OS Plasma then you need https://xpq4.sourceforge.io/setup_xpq4- … 5.3-a1.esh
Download the file and double click to run the installer.
If you want to set up a new system using the ISO files provided by xpq4 then you create a new bootable media - USB - and run the installer provided. That will wipe your existing system and replace it with the xpq4 version of your choice.

Which package did you install?
There should be an XPQ4 theme picker in your menu/on your desktop.

No - just eye-candy.

Im really confused now. FreeXP in fact is based on Q4OS but has the XP theme, Free10 is also based on Q4OS with the Win10 theme.
If Q4OS installs, FreeXP should install just fine as well.
I did a test install of FreeXP on one of my laptops and it installed in minutes.
Glad at least things were somewhat figured out.

The Q4OS Plasma one, I know there is a theme selector but there isn't a WinXP theme, just 4 "official" ones and one called "Windows_10"

I was finally able to get the image to work aXogaja posted in the first post and you indeed had Free10 installed and the image is of the welcome screen for the OS.
If you use the FreeXP version instead you should be able to install it just as you did the first time.
With Free10 its only offered for download with Plasma and FreeXP is only offered for download with Trinity.

So I need to install Q4OS againt but the Trinity version?

I may be wrong but I dont believe Plasma supports the XPQ4 version(even though I realize that it says that it does) so I would install the Trinity XPQ4 iso in post #5 and I believe that will have the XPQ4 theme.
I say that because Free10 supports Plasma and FreeXP supports Trinity. I know the website shows XPQ4 for Plasma but given that you have shown you only have the Win10 theme, I believe that the Trinity XPQ4 iso will definitely offer the XPQ4 theme.
I want to emphasize that Q4OS didnt create XPQ4 or the Win10 version and we dont really provide support for it, as the devs of those projects are ultimately responsible for it. We try to help as much as we can.
