Hello All,
I'm new to Q4OS and I installed the XPQ4 add on with the look of Windows XP on my laptop.
What I am wondering is if there is a way that I can also add the Windows XP Startup and Shutdown sounds
on this as well? And if so could you please give me step by step instructions as to how to do this please?
Thank you all very much in advance.

At least with Plasma desktop it is possible to configure sounds. But you'll probably have to copy the sounds you're interested in from your own copy of Windows XP for copyright reasons.
System Settings > Notifications > Applications > Plasma Workspace > Configure Events > Login

I don't have the Plasma Desktop. I have the Trinity Desktop

Have you checked with the XPQ4 devs to see what might be possible or available?

It's like it's dead, I've tried to write to them twice with no response.
If you manage to contact them please let me know.
Thanks

Maybe the devs know how to contact them.

I doubt very much this thread is still live but............
Menu>Settings>Sound>System Notifications>.....
The sound file picker (big UP arrow) takes you to /opt/trinity/share/sounds and reveals .ogg and .wav files
However as you can pick a file per action it doesn't matter where they are. For consistency I would put the XP files in ~/.local/share/sounds or under ~/.trinity/share just as long as you can find them.
Then just select the Event and match it to the file.

Apparently XPQ4 is still being supported according to their own site, so not sure why they didnt respond.
