I have an old Asus Z53Sc laptop with GeForce 8400m. It is used as a spare laptop. Without video acceleration it is quite difficult to use. The problem is that the drivers for the video card are supported only in the Linux kernel version 4, and the new network card Wi-Fi 6E (Intel AX210 miniPCIe) is only supported in the Linux kernel version 5.15+. The situation is somewhat saved by speeding up the playback of local video on the Broadcom BCM70015 Crystal HD accelerator, but this hardly speeds up work in the browser, with the exception of video playback in some old formats.
But on the Q4OS version 5.6 with the Linux 6.1.0 kernel, you can install the old Nvidia 340.xx drivers with patches, like this: How to install nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver on Debian 12 Bookworm.
I installed it according to the instructions and everything works.
