Error kdesktop process for file protocol finished unexpectedly

How to fix and avoid this message every time I start? My Q4os is running  on 32 bits laptop. Is it some kdedesktop option or configuration not working for 32 bit or old processors? Ideas are welcome.

Re: Error kdesktop process for file protocol finished unexpectedly

Please copy and paste the output from

inxi -SMCGx

Has this been happening since you installed or is it a recent event?

When this happens do your normal desktop icons show up?

Does it happen when you log out and log back in?

Have you tried to add any autostart items?

When you shut down are there any programs still running?

Next, I answer your questions as you required:

Has this been happening since you installed or is it a recent event?
It is a recent event, not from a whole and new Q4OS install.

When this happens do your normal desktop icons show up?
Yes, icons are shown normally when I start Q4OS. Icons show up not at first when I start, but show up at last.

Does it happen when you log out and log back in?
Yes, when I want to close current session and log in, that windows message again and again happens. Same thing when I start my laptop and log in a session.

Have you tried to add any autostart items?
I have activated 4 desktops on Configure Desktops settings, which I can switch normally between them with my mouse wheel. I think the message error happens since then, but seem to me it has nonsense about the content of the message error and my recent changes on desktop settings.

When you shut down are there any programs still running?
Most of times, all programs are closed before turn off because my computer can shut down faster.

I hope this helps to fix this issue. Thanks in advance.

Re: Error kdesktop process for file protocol finished unexpectedly

You may not like the idea, but the first thing I would do is to reset the desktop settings to default.
Open console and do:-

sh /usr/share/apps/q4os_system/bin/default_desktop_settings.sh

Log out and back in.
Your desktop will now be as it was after installation.
Do you still have the error message?
