Hidden Windows folders and files under Q4OS

Hello,

I installed Q4OS from Windows 10 pro and the Q4OS windows installer: perfect!

However, when I attempted to share my thunderbird and firefox configurations and folders from Winsows to Q4OS (to avoid dual sets of files!) I got a strange behavior from the GUI files managers (Dolphin and Krusader) and even from a terminal:
I can't see the AppData, hidden folder from a windows user folder !
However, from a terminal opened in a Windows user folder, I'm able to cd to AppData !
And then I can see the subfolders.
And, better, on Krusader, if I cd to AppData on the Krusader command line, I see the subfolders in Krusader!

Does anybody have a solution ?

Thanks a lot
and BIG thanks to the Q4OS team !!! a so nice system !!!

Patrice (form France)

Re: Hidden Windows folders and files under Q4OS

In Dolphin, hit Ctrl + H or Alt + . or use the menu "Affichage -> Afficher les fichiers cachés" to toggle the display of hidden files / folders.

Re: Hidden Windows folders and files under Q4OS

Thanks for your reply.
However it doesn't work.

Perhaps I was not enough clear: I want to see the windows hidden folders (that are hidden when I run windows) not the Linux hidden ones (which names begin with a dot).

I have a Debian 10 (similar to Q4OS Centaurus) virtual machine and when I explore C:\Windows\user\ as a shared folder with Xfe (Dolphin not installed in my VM) all the Windows hidden folders are displayed in the same way as non-hidden ones.

Perhaps the way Windows hidden folders are treated depends on the tool used to access them or on an option. But I don't have Q4OS installed with Windows 10, so I can't help further.
