I posted this on the Support Forum but no reply yet. Anyone else have ideas?

Re: Graphics resolution and slow streaming

From the output you posted, your current screen resolution is 1024x768. To get a list of available resolutions, use

$ xrandr

and set a higher mode if one is available (Application launcher > Applications > System configuration).

But, unluckily, I believe the problem isn't related to your Internet connection but is related to your hardware (cpu, display) which has low performances regarding today's streaming requirements.

Re: Graphics resolution and slow streaming

Youre talking about the T41 released in 2003 with the Pentium M(dpesnt have a large cpu cache) which isnt fast enough for streaming purposes. The included Radeon 7500  discrete gpu isnt good enough to help the situation. Im betting you have 2gb of ram and you need at least 4gb for todays needs. Laptops standard resolution was 1024x768 if Im not mistaken. Regardless given the age of your system, you really dont want to run it at a higher resolution because youre barely hanging in there at 1024x768.
Then add to that whatever the performance is for your network, which Im assuming isnt great and its time to find a newer used laptop.
