Simple way to image entire disk

I am planning to install Q4OS on a SSD. I want to create an image of that SSD onto a hard drive (maybe automated weekly) , so in the event if a SSD failure I can restore that image to the SSD without having to reconfigure stuff and have plex have to rebuilt its data base, etc.

Any easy way to do that?

thanks

You might like to check this out:  https://linuxhint.com/11_best_backup_tools_linux/

And this: https://linuxhint.com/make-disk-images- … and-linux/

Because I'm using TDE on my Q4OS desktop, I just use Keep (for Trinity) for my backups.

Clonezilla is what you're looking for https://clonezilla.org/downloads.php

What is Clonezilla?
Clonezilla is a partition and disk imaging/cloning program similar to True Image® or Norton Ghost®. It helps you to do system deployment, bare metal backup and recovery.

By the way, you should've posted this in the support section, this one is intended for posting tips & tutorials on Q4OS or Linux in general that you want to share with other users, so they can learn, use and benefit from. smile

Re: Simple way to image entire disk

The problem with clonezilla is that I have to take my system off line to use it to image the drive.

I don't follow. What do you mean? I know you have to boot Clonezilla Live OS, select the disk/partition you want to image as well as the destination. The whole process may involve more steps depending on your setup. There's also this one https://rescuezilla.com/

Rescuezilla is an easy-to-use disk imaging application that's fully compatible with Clonezilla — the industry-standard trusted by tens of millions.

Yes, Rescuezilla is the Clonezilla GUI (graphical user interface) that you might have been looking for.
