Hello guys, this isn't a specifically Q4OS query but I'm not aware of any forum that would be better-suited. I'd be grateful for any suggestions in response to my non-urgent query.
Scenario: I have several Asus E200H clamshells. These are cheap machines with decent screens and solid-state drives. I'm aware of the issues with SSDs but prefer them because they enable me to work in places that I wouldn't take a computer with a cooling fan. I do extensive backups and keep much of my work online.
One E200H fails at startup every couple of months, flagging disk problems and 'run fsck'. Presumably the SSD has a media fault. I'm OK running fsck from a rescue disk but it's a drag.
I'd like to reformat it so as to lock out the problem 'sector'. I'm not aware of how you do this on SSD. Can anyone give me any pointers?

MX Linux have an app to check SSD status.
You can always run MX live from USB and look for it.
(I have their latest beta but kind of busy right now).
