Hello
Is it possible with LibreOffice Writer to directly have the .doc extension which is added to the name of the quad files we save in word97-2003 format.
I cannot find the setting in tools then option then load / save.

Re: LibreOffice .doc

Are you asking how to make this the default? You can try in Tools > Options > Open/Save > General and  look for the option Always Save as  expand the drop-down menu and select the desired format you'd like to save your files with.

NOTE: I'm using the latest version of LibreOffice suite, 7.1.3 and not sure if a previous one has it too, but I kind of remember that it does.

Re: LibreOffice .doc

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, however, if your question is how to save files with .doc as the extension when using Save as, you can do so by expanding the drop-down menu in the save dialog box, as shown in the screenshot

Re: LibreOffice .doc

The Save dialog I get with LibreOffice 6.1.5.2 / Q4OS / Plasma is very different from the screen capture you provided. Mine is hereunder and the checkbox for auto extension is well present.
Can you provide us with a screenshot of the About window from your version of LibreOffice?

He's using Trinity, not Plasma. I don't know exactly how different this kind of(libre office)dialogs can be(I use Plasma too) though.

Re: LibreOffice .doc

I don't know if I'm helping at all, it's been a while since this question was posted, but here where I can set the default "Save As" setting in my LibreOffice on my Trinity desktop:

It's under Options > Load/Save > General

libreoffice_saveas.jpg

Does this help at all?
