Keyboard layout

Plasma KDE Keyboard layout issue affecting the “ @ € symbols.

Not sure if this is related to my laptop, just incase any of you experience the same issue, keyboard layout defaults to US as supposed to UK layout.  Even changing backwards/forwards to Generic 101-key PC in system/input devices/keyboard does not remedy the issue. According to the Plasma KDE Wiki.

1. Open a terminal and run:  sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-setup
2. Select UTF8
3. Select Combined
4. Select VGA
5. Reboot

Now keys correctly working. Not sure if there is .config file somewhere in etc/X11

Best regards,
G van Breemen.

Re: Keyboard layout

The keyboard layout switching between US and UK can be frustrating, especially when special characters like @ or € stop working properly. Testing layouts or responsiveness often brings up other quirks too. For anyone curious about stress-testing key response, there’s also a way to measure how consistent the spacebar performs during repeated presses. Space-bar-clicker.github.io to explore a tool that tracks speed and accuracy.
