Arduino IDE (answered)

The Arduino IDE in synaptic is rather old. Does anyone know how well the tar.gz file at arduino.cc works on Q4OS? And should we follow their install instructions or is there a better way?

I don't use Arduino, but I just downloaded and installed it in a VM running Q4OS Trinity and the process was fairly easy. Just follow the instructions from the website.

One thing I could add to the instructions is that you  should probably extract the arduino.tar.gz to /opt, once you've done that cd to that dir

cd /opt/arduino-1.8.13

and run the install.sh script from there

sudo ./install.sh

it seems to me like the best thing to do.
