How much did this go up in the last week ?

I usually check but, I have been ill this week and missing a lot of things.

Thanks,

Bobby

About 3/4 of the 194 you saw is just spammers. If you look now it shows 45 registered users. The Q4OS Team has to go in an sweep out the dregs from time to time.

I always let the Q4OS team know when I suspect a spammer. If you let it go, it just gets worse.

Re: Did number of Forum users just jump a bunch ?

I've seen this on so many forums (fora???)

The reason for the spammers is the too simple sign up process which does not send a verification/click to confirm email to the supplied address. Whilst that does not defeat all, it gets rid of the automated / idiot stuff.

If FluxBB cannot do that then it's the wrong package for this day and age I'm afraid.

It doesn't, bots do register, even if verification is enabled. Bots can easily automate verification process. This way they could initiate forum mailer would send lot of e-mails around to behave like a spammer too smile In some cases we could fall into some IP addresses blacklists.

FluxBB can do that.
