how to kill this mystery system monitor

New to Q4OS, but looong time Debian user.

My desktop has a mystery system monitor stuck at the upper right corner. It won't move, won't close, won't respond to right clicks, and despite experiments I can't figure out how to kill it. It's somewhat transparent. Beneath it is a caption saying "This effect is not a benchmark". No idea what fires it up automagically every time I start the machine. Anyone know what this is & how to prevent it?

A desktop snapshot omits the thing, but I snapped a pic of it. I don't see a way to post pics in this forum, so I posted the pic at "laterdudette dot com" in the subdir "images". It's named "notbenchmark.jpg" ... wish I could be clearer how you could peek at the problem, but your forum software won't let me post a link to it either.

Any help killing this annoyance appreciated.
