Issue installing Guest Additons in Virtualbox

I have a bit of puzzle with installing the Guest Additions in Virtualbox.

Post installation it kicks off the script.

It seems to imply that it will download a custom version, but in fact then just asks me to load up the iso image - which I have previously downloaded from somewhere.

The install seems to run, but there's an odd looking error at the end.

On reboot 2 further errors pop up and of course re-size does not work.

I then mount the iso gain, run the linux additions add script and it all works fine.

I have attached 8 screen grabs as of course the clipboard share is not working.

It's no big deal, just puzzled.

Re: Issue installing Guest Additons in Virtualbox

For linux guest VMs I prefer qemu/kvm; it's faster and just works. I do use virtualbox too but for windows VMs only. Your issues seem to me related specifically with Q4OS' guest additions install wizard. Did you try just using VBox's way? Clicking on Devices from VM's menu, then select insert guest additions iso? You might try that and check whether the same errors occur or not. If they don't, then Q4OS's wizard's to blame. If they do, then something else is.  Just re-read the whole thing and realized you did that.
