Re: Q4OS Centaurus 3.9 released

Nice!

Sleek login screen.
Quick to boot (much faster than before - which was already pretty decent).
Like to see familiar wallpapers to choose from.
No unpleasant surprises.

Re: Q4OS Centaurus 3.9 released

Is it just me?

Screen locking can't seem to pickup new images to change its appearance.

There shouldn't be no change in screen locking, how did you pickup new images for screen locking before ? A step by step description would be helpful.

@seatex
No procedure needed, it will be updated from repositories. You can also do the upgrade from terminal:
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt dist-upgrade

@danielson
We are not able to reproduce the issue, it works fine here. Tested on a live as well as installed system. It would be appreciated, if you could find some way to reproduce that. Anyway, we will continue to investigate the issue.

@Q4OS Team - goccha!

You went through settings and it works fine for me now. Yay!

Via "super-key" and type "screen locking" and that's where it doesn't work (for me).

You might need to resize the window to display images below.

Where are background images stored on Q4OS?

Other thing.
When accessing "screen locking" via super-key, the option to add new wallpapers doesn't do anything, except add a wallpaper.
Hence, the need to know where they are stored and see what size they are.

Great news. Thanks Q4OS team.

I just updated the new Portuguese translations in Q4OS Team's github (q4os-i18n-master).
The q4os-screenscaler and welcome-screen are updated with the Portuguese translations.

Best regards

@hugok
The new translations are now available in repositories, you only need to update your system to get them active. Thanks for helping us.

Re: Q4OS Centaurus 3.9 released

I take this opportunity to say that I've made some minor corrections to the translations.
Some of the corrections are due to the translations of the word 'Discover' and 'Synaptic' but everything is fine now.
I already uploaded the translations directly to github.

Thanks q4os team.

Re: Q4OS Centaurus 3.9 released

Just performed a fresh install using q4os-3.9-x64-tde.r1.iso and just wanted to note a couple of things:-

1. There is no partition manager (that I could see) in the live-cd making it a little more difficult to manipulate partitions before starting the installer. I did use the installer to resize the main partition and create a new one for Q4OS which worked without issue but sometimes the live-cd is used for recovering a system or making changes that cannot be done from a running system and gparted (which used to be included with the Live-cd) was always useful, at least for me anyway.

2. After first booting the system and installing the language pack and then installing the full desktop profile, a message was displayed saying I would now continue to the login screen (which I had already passed) and although the desktop was displayed without needing to log-in again I thought it is probably a misplaced dialog.

Nothing major here but thought it worth reporting, and overall it was a trouble free installation, nice work as usual guys. smile

Re: Q4OS Centaurus 3.9 released

1. We are really wavering to include Gparted into the live media. It would significantly help some users, however it increases media size. Anyway, the Calamares installer integrates the basic partitioning tools for installation purposes.

2. Yes, it's a glitch, will be fixed in the next release.

Thanks for testing and reporting smile

Re: Q4OS Centaurus 3.9 released

KDE version was great, no major issues so far and as usual the Q4OS features make it a far smoother experience than using Debian 10 itself.
