Firefox locks up shutdown

This was one of those silly moments I thought I'd share.

Go to shut down Q4OS and it just hung - going nowhere.

Then I saw that FF was in the taskbar - minimised.

Swap to CLI via Ctrl F2, log in and run htop - kill FF and all shuts down fine.

OK, start up, open FF and minimise - shut down - works OK

Try again, but this time open a couple of tabs, minimise and it locks up shutdown.

On my version of FF it prompts you to ask if you want to close tabs when you exit from FF

When minimised and trying to shut down it cannot display the prompt and so just sits there refusing to close. Hence the lock up.

Solution - disable the prompt in about:config browser.tabs.warnOnCloseOtherTabs

Silly but there you go.

Re: Firefox locks up shutdown

I tried to use Firefox ESR in the Debian repository and it is terrible. I type in something like Reuters or whatever and nothing happens. The Q40S Firefox Stable version works well.

I thought Debian packages was extra reliable and secure, because they are older software.

Was my assumption wrong?
