Q4OS installer crashes

Q4OS installer crashes time by time, on some specific hardware frequently, on some even always. We call everyone who noticed installer crash to report it here. Please post any related findings, they could be important to find the fail reason and for making a fix.

If you would want to proceed a simple testing of installer, it's possible to safely use this one https://github.com/jaerrib/q4os-user-ma … a1_all.esh . It will only install Q4OS documentation in pdf format, just download it, save and launch it by double-click from file manager. Please report here, if the install process completed or failed.

You can completely uninstall the documentation using terminal command:
$ sh /usr/share/apps/q4os_system/uninst_q4inf/uninstall_q4os-user-manual.sh

EDIT 2019-01-11: A fix to the installer has been released, a testing is still appreciated though. Please update your system first:
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt dist-upgrade

I just tried the installer and it failed, this was all the backtrace contained

This backtrace appears to be of no use.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creation of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.

Please run installer from terminal:
$ dash setup_q4os-user-manual_0.2-a1_all.esh
and post the terminal output.

Worked in terminal as expected, I will uninstall and try again from konqueror to see if the error occurs again...

EDIT: tried again from konqueror (double click installer file) and failed the same way, tried again immediately afterwards and completed successfully...

I tried several times more uninstalling and re-installing (both cli and via konqueror) and it has completed successfully every time, I will try a reboot to see if a clean system prevents it.

We have updated "q4os-setup" package, it should be more stable now. You need to update system to get the fixed version "2.4.2-a1":
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt dist-upgrade
