Q4OS is not recognizing dead keys (accents)

I don't know what can be making this problem

In Chrome it works OK (á é í ó ú joão pedro) but in any other place (Like the Desktop, when I am renaming a file) it doesn't works.

In any other place, including Text Editors, Terminal etc, if I try to write any word with accent, e.g. Músicas, it writes M´usicas instead.

And I work with WPS Office and I need these keys working! Can someone help me please?

Re: Q4OS is not recognizing dead keys (accents)

It could be that some applications need to have a specific language set somewhere to allow these characters to be displayed properly, but I haven't needed to look for this option before as I only speak english (well a tiny amount of Spanish too, but I could not hold a full conversation).
One thing you could try with WPS Office is to see if the correct language is set, this link might help.

Re: Q4OS is not recognizing dead keys (accents)

I will stay using Ubuntu for today instead of Q4OS. At home I will search to find a solution for this problem.

The settings in Control Panel are right for my language, I don't know what can be wrong. hmm

Even if I set from Portuguese for another language that uses accents, like Spanish, it doesn't work. Only in Chrome and in LightDM login screen the accents are working.

Re: Q4OS is not recognizing dead keys (accents)

We have checked this on a clean Q4OS installation with Spanish keyboard layout, and accents, as described above, work fine in all Trinity applications. You only need to set Spanish keyboard up in Trinity. Right click on the keyboard in system tray > Configure > select Spanish layout from the right column > click "Add >>" button > optionally set keyboard priority.

Yes, it ever worked. I use Q4OS since November and just now I am facing this problem.

I tried to add Portuguese (my language) keyboard layout in 'Control Panel' -> Acessibility -> Keyboard Layout.
I will try to set it on System Tray also.

Re: Q4OS is not recognizing dead keys (accents)

I stopped using Q4OS for all these days. So today I went back to Q4OS and everything is working fine, everywhere.
