Webcams?

I'm assuming that all webcams are pretty compatible with linux these days? I only need a cheap one and was thinking of buying this from Amazon.

Re: Webcams?

The only time I worry is if it looks like some sort of special driver may be needed - for example I have a USB microscope which is OK under Linux but only works 100% under Windows.
I usually look for MAC compatibility along with Vista or/and W7 - My guess is this one will work at a basic level as it does mention proprietory drivers.

Re: Webcams?

It does say it is NOT mac compatible which could be a sign of incompatibility...

Re: Webcams?

Just buy Logitech C170!
It is 100% compatible with all modern Linuxes. Just plug in and you are ready to go! You only need PulseAudio to be installed. Works perfectly with Skype and Discord! Personally I have two of them. Works very well!
Or you can buy Logitech C270 if you want HD camera. It should be compatible with Linux too, but I haven't tested it. Do NOT buy unnamed manufacturer camera!

Before asking for help please read this topic: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3502   If you have problems with WiFi network, try to install the Network Manager using Q4OS Software Centre.
