I was looking for some dictionary software and found goldendict which seems to be well regarded. Unfortunately after installing (with apt-get) and running it I got a segmentation fault.
Any other suggestions?
update: I installed kdict which does the job.

Looks like a Debian bug, as we have quickly tested to run goldendict under TDE and LXDE desktops. Both attempts to run goldendict endup with segfault. We will report a bug at Debian bug tracker.

Ok, sadly kdict-trinity also crashes. So I'm looking for another alternative. I would prefer to download a database so that I can use it offline.

You can use goldendict, there is a workaround available. Run in terminal:
$ KDE_SESSION_VERSION=4 goldendict

Great, thanks!

The issue is now fixed in Q4OS. You can run goldendict without the workaround after the system update.
